EXPERIENCE

Amberdms Managing Director	I am the managing director and owner of Amberdms Ltd, which offers various software products (with particular focus on web-based applications), IT consultancy services and custom software development.

Prophecy Networks Systems Engineer	Employed 2006-2008 (2.5 years) by Prophecy Networks as a systems engineer, performing a range of jobs, including server administration, programing, solution design and implementation, and trialling new technologies. Most of my work involved using OSS & Linux, but I have also performed work with various proprietary platforms and solutions. Left in Aug 2008 to focus on Amberdms Ltd.

Jedo Linux Head Developer	For a few years I developed my own Linux distribution called "Jedo Linux" which used the portage package manager with my own package build scripts.

GAINED QUALIFICATIONS

Red Hat RH423: Directory Services and Authentication	I have passed the RH423 Directory Services and Authentication exam, which is 1/5 of the parts consisting of the RHCA qualification. This qualification covers the ability to configure and deploy Redhat Directory Server (LDAP server), Kerberos and/or LDAP authentication and Linux integration with Active Directory servers. Red Hat RH436: Clustering and Storage Management	I have passed the RH436 Clustering and Storage Management exam, which is 1/5 of the parts consisting of the RHCA qualification. This qualification covers design and configuration of clusters using Red Hat Cluster Suite for High-Availability clusters, and storage management using technologies such as dm-mapper, LVM, software RAID, network storage and clustered filesystems such as GFS. Red Hat RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer)	This industry qualification shows that I have the skills necessary to install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot RedHat Enterprise Linux systems. I passed with a score of 100%. If you wish, you can verify my certificate here

Rembuden Karate 1st Kyu	I have practised karate for several years, and have reached the grade of 1st Kyu (Brown Belt)

NZ Qualifications Authority NCEA Level 2	I have sat and passed the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, English, Mathematics, Physics and Photography.

NZ Qualifications Authority NCEA Level 1	I have sat and passed the following subjects: English, Latin, Mathematics, Physics, Science and a bonus Social Studies paper.

Adult Education Small Business Accounting	A course on the basics of accounting for small businesses.

Cisco Networking CCNA Semesters 1 - 4	This course covers design and configurations of networks using Cisco networking devices.

Cisco Networking and Sun Microsystems Fundamentals of UNIX	Covers the UNIX environment - Sun Solaris, UNIX, Linux, KDE, GNOME, NIX applications, NIX commands and how to use & administrate systems.

Vice Consulting Perl Intermediate	Sequel to the Perl Primer course below, it covers many features of perl, including regular expressions, the DBI module, advanced file manipulation, formats and more.

Vice Consulting Perl Primer	A full day course covering the perl programming language, in areas such as including modules, file & time manipulation and basic perl commands.

Vice Consulting PHP/MySQL Short Course	A 20 hour PHP/MySQL course, covering programming, configuration, shopping carts, order pages, admin pages, poll systems and more.

Natcoll Introduction to Linux Administration	20 hour Linux course covering linux/unix commands, programs, Samba servers, NFS servers, MySQL databases, Apache, text editors and more.
